The LPS II is a versatile laser processing system that can be configured for various laser sealing, cutting & welding applications. Two, SCARA robots with vision guidance systems are integrated into the LPS II and provide precise, repeatable control of the lasers.

The LPS II is designed to allow substrates up to 20" X 20" X 2-1/2" to be processed in a high vacuum or inert gas environment. Fully automated process control of laser power, traverse speed & position, chamber pressure, gas flow and substrate heating & cooling rates are provided.

PVI offers the LPS II with product specific top & bottom side heating systems in order to provide uniform substrate temperatures. Typical applications for the LPS II system include sealing of flat panel displays & other devices requiring a hermetic seal.

The SCARA robots are fully integrated with the LPS II process control system. Each of the robots can be programmed for independent or simultaneous operations. A teach mode is provided so that new robot motion paths can be easily programmed.
